I wanted to announce this event when it was time to do so and not before. There has been a lot of discussion regarding a 2nd Edition of my book and I feel it is time to end the rumors.

The 2nd Edition of my book "Star Wars Vintage Action Figures, A Guide for Collectors" is in the final stages of getting ready to go to the printer.

I had always wanted to do a revised edition. Since the First Edition came out in 2003 I kept notes of many changes, updates and new material for this occasion. However, since suffering the stroke and loss of most of my sight I thought it may never happen. Several months ago Tom Derby offered me his assistance with getting the Second Edition ready. He has been very generous with his time, energy and photo images for the new material that will be in the book. My goal is to have the book ready by the end of November.

Some details regarding the new edition: It will be 376 pages. It will include Droids / Ewoks, Tri-Logo, Large Action Figures, expanded sections on Vehicles and Playsets, and 100+ pages on preproduction material. The often used matrices for carded figures (Front-Back combinations and Proof Cards) have been updated.

When time permits, my website www.frontbackbooks.com will be updated to show sample pictures of some of the pages as well as information on ordering a copy. At Celebration 5 Tom Derby will have a printed circular showing a sample of some of the pages.

I wish I could attend Celebration 5 but it's very difficult for me to navigate through crowds at this time.

The book is currently in the proofing phase and the release will be slightly delayed. While the timeline is still an estimate, we expect to approve a final proof within a month.
If this estimate proves to be accurate, the book should ship back from overseas in the first part of December. Unfortunately, this would put the book in Atlanta, ready to be shipped, around the end of January.
We will begin accepting pre-orders over our website as soon as the final draft is approved. Many last minute additions have been made and the book has expanded by an additional 16 pages to an estimated total page count of 392.

Quatsch. Kellerman ist schwer krank. Ein Wunder, dass es zu dieser 2nd Edition gekommen ist.

Got a reply back from the front back books website yesterday. Here is the direct copy paste of the message I got.

Hi,

We apologize for the delay. The book is still in final proofing. The addition of quite a bit of new material from the very end of the line, which would have been produced during or after the POTF era, called "The Epic Continues" has been added and has delayed printing. We expect to have everything proofed very soon. We will then begin officially accepting pre-orders on-line. We will also send out another newsletter to advise those who have already signed up for pre-orders at C5 that everything has been completed, that credit cards will soon be charged, and that a relatively accurate estimated delivery date in the United States has been provided by the printer.
