Gus Lopez und Duncan Jenkins arbeiten an einem 1000 Seiten Werk.

Duncan and I have been working on a new price guide that's due out later in the year, done the way at least we would like to see one made: 10,000's photos, extensive international coverage, lots of vintage items, snarky narrative, complete coverage of all unlicensed items and bootlegs, indexes by licensees/country/film, and more items than any Star Wars price guide assembled. It will be hardback, color photos throughout, and currently tracking to around 1000 pages.

I'm very excited about it and we're getting close to finishing, but we still have a ton of work to do to complete photography and lay down the price ranges. Also, we're crediting hundreds of collectors who have contributed information over the years, since in my opinion the best guides draw from the aggregated knowledge of the community rather than assembled by just one individual. There will be 56 different chapters in total. I'll of course post something here when we're ready to take orders in a few months.

Besonderst Freue ich mich über den Bootleg bereich, da gibt es ja so gut wie gar nichts bisher.

Hoffe das die Bebilderung in anständiger Größe kommt .

Mal sehen was die Preise bei Vintage machen ?
Will Varies von MOCs und BOX sehen...!
Ich hoffe nur, es wird nicht wieder nur ein Händler Katalog...!

Hört sich gut an, mit 30 Euro wird das zwar sicher nichts, eher ab dem Doppelten.

Aber bei 1000 Seiten und Hardcover ist das ja ein normaler Preis, bin
schon gespannt wie das Ergebniss aussehen wird.

hoffendlich bleiben die bilder nicht so klein.

30 ¤ kommen wir wohl nicht mit hin. wenn man denkt das der softcover star heroes mit ca. 500 seiten ja schon mit 17,90 ¤ zubuche schlägt.

ich gehe mal mit einem deutschen preis von ca. 69 ¤ aus was mich dann warscheinlich auch erst mal aus der käufergruppe rauswirft. die probeseite haut mich auch noch nicht so vom hocker. aber gespannt bin ich trotzdem wies wird.

LOL! Klares Statement von einem Vintage Guru! Sehr konsequent! Recht so!

Ich fürchte das teure wird der Versand-tausend Seiten Hardcaver haben bestimmt ein gutes Gewicht. In Deutschland wird das Teil bestimmt nicht offiziell erscheinen.

Mind. 40 Euro incl . Versand. Das ist aber eher die untere Grenze.

Teuer wirds....aber aufgrund der nicht gerade hohen Auflage und dessen Aufwand bin ich gerne bereit einen etwas höheren Betrag dafür zu zahlen.

Wenn die Bilder so bleiben und das Layout auch, kann ich mir den Kauf sparen. Sieht bisher nicht besonders prickelnd aus. Auch wenns ein Archiv-Werk wird muss man das nicht so lieblos runterknüppeln. Aber ich lass mich gern vom Gegenteil überzeugen.

The book Gus & I are working on is *almost* finished! We hope to have it out this summer. It will be available on the internet and we will ship worldwide. At this time, I don't think it will be sold in any stores in Euope. But we will see.

Duncan and I are done with the content, layout, and photography for the book and have been proofing it over the past several weeks. We're tentatively on track go to print next month and start taking preorders at that time, shipping by end of year. I'll give the final word when we're ready.

It takes an extraordinary amount of effort to put together something like this: 75,000+ items, 38,000+ images, ~1000 pages, 56 chapters, 100+ countries, 1000's of licensees, hundreds of contributors of content including many RS forum regulars, and many Star Wars items people have never seen. It'll be hardcover and color photos throughout, and are aiming to sell it for under $60 with a small initial print run. We've been working on this project for four years!
